In the Ipswich Journal newspaper on 16 July 1776:

"Last Tuesday was married Mr Kemball surgeon at Stoke to Miss Gurdon of Hadeigh daughter of the Rev Mr Gurdon late of Cranworth in Norfolk, an agreeable young lady with a genteel fortune”.

Letitia Phllipa Kemball's husband Vero died in 1814 at Maldon in Essex and was buried at Woodham Mortimer on September 10th 1814, he was 65 years old.

On a gravestome in Stoke By Nayland:

In memory of Philippa Gurdon, relict of Parker Gurdon, Rector of Cranworth, in Norfolk, and daughter of George Clarke, late Rector of Raydon, in Suffolk, who died April 11, 1779, aged 65."

Here lieth two of her grandchildren, Eliza and Philip Kemdall, who died infants.

Parker Gurdon was a private chaplin to the Earl of Sunderland from the 12th Sptember 1746 and was the rector of Burgh in Norfolk in 1750 and Cramworth also in Norfolk from 1753 until his death in 1762.

Phillip was admitted to Colchester Grammar School 5 October 1643, aged 13, of Emmanuel College, Cambridge, B.A. 1653, of Queen's College, M..A. incorporated at Oxford 14 July 1657 ; aged about 38, 19 October 1669; executor to his father's will 4 October 1679, mentioned in his mother's will 23 August 1680. He was also an MP for Sudbury in Suffolk from 1689 - 1690.

The will of Robert Gurdon:

Robert Gurdon of Assington in the diocese of Norwich within the County of Suffolk Esq. 3 April 1578, proved 12 May 1579. I give and bequeath unto Rose my well beloved wife one hundred pounds by the year, half yearly to be paid by John Gurdon my son &c. in full satisfaction and " contentacon " of all her right and title of dower &c. (and furniture and the use of certain rooms &c). To Elizabeth Waldgrave my daughter my lease (unexpired) of the parsonages of Much and Little Coggeshall, Essex. To her three children. Thomas, John and Elizabeth, twenty pounds apiece, to be paid unto my son Thomas Waldgrave their father &c. To my son John Gurdon the tenements &c. which I lately purchased of John Wincoll of Waldingfield, for term of life, with remainder to Brampton Gurdon, son of the said John, and lastly to my right heirs.
