Alfred's wife Saran Ann Chub was born in Chieveley, Berkshire in 1855 to Josh and Ann Chub. On the 1891 census despite being married she is still listed as a Chubb and not a Hamlin although her two daughters Edith A (born Chieveley 1884) and Sarah E (born Chieveley, 1886) and both shown as Hamlin's.

Sarah Ann Hamlin died in Willesden in 1922.

Bertha and her first husband Walter Henry Baggarely had three children - Percival Walter Henry Baggarley (born 1913 and died in 1980 in Bromley, Kent) Stanley F Baggarley (born in 1916) and Albert John Baggarely. Bertha had no children wirth her second husband.

Walter Henry Baggarely died in 1968 (aged 79) so it looks like he and Bertha were divorced as she re-married Richard Dobie in 1951. On the 1939 Register Bertha was living was Richard Dobie (born 14 February 1888) who would later become her second husband, Richard was previously married to Gertrude Elizabeth Vanstone, he married her on 13 September 1914 at St Peter's Church, Hornsey, Middlesex but she died two years later in 1916. Richard Dobie died in 1962 aged 74 and he had a child with Bertha called Iris Dobie who was born in 1934.

Frederick's first school was Lavender Hill he then went to Gideon Road in Wandsworth where he started on 25 August 1898, on the same day his brother George Robert Hamlin also started there.

Frederick was 5' 8 3/4" in height and had hazel hair hair and brown eyes.

Florence Hughes was born around 1886 and died on 3 Decemeber 1942 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.

On May 15 1915, there was a gasoline explosion in the engine room on the C G S Mildred McColl near Yarmouth, Nova Scotia while Frederick was on duty. He was injured on his right ankle and caused contusion to the left thigh and area. He was in bed for 3 months with the ankle injury. After recovery, he claimed that the pain prevented him from doing drills. The doctor did not believe him and said he was a 'malingerer to a large extent'. The Medical Board declared that he would be fit for duty after 4 months of physical training at Monk's Horton. The board advised that he be disciplined as a malingerer.

General:
Henry Rickart Hamlin had a brother called Tom who was in the RAF, he had a daughter called Valerie, she died at the age of 36 of asthma, he also had a brother called Douglas who was in the Navy.

Henry joined the army in 1914 aged just 14 and was believed to have taken part in the Dunkirk evacuation. This was an evacuation of Allied soldiers from the beaches of Dunkirk, France, between May 26 and June 4, 1940, when British and French troops were cut off by the German army during the Battle of Dunkirk in the Second World War. By 1949 he was a Captain and had left the army. He was formley a sergeant in the Royal Corps of Signals - number 2311587.

"W/S Capt. (Q.M.) Henry Rickartt HAMLIN (E.G.), R. Sigs. (I.O. 6627 now LA. 1500) and retains the W/S rank of Capt., 23rd Dec. 1943. (Substituted for the notifn. in the Gazette dated .1st Feb. 1946.)

After the second world war Henry was working in the Civil Service when he had a relationship with an Ena May Grace Parsons, he subsequently had a son born on 28 May 1951 called Ian Rickart Hamlin Parsons.

From around 1951-1965 Henry lived at 83 Strathville Road, Putney, London with Ehel Maud Bingham and a Annie Johnson.

Henry's second "wife" Ethel Maud Hamlin was born on 14 April 1899 in Paddington, London as Ethel Maud Cottiss and died 28 March 1980 in Merstham, Redhill, Surrey at 42 Subrosa, Battlebridge Lane. She did not actually marry Henry although her death certifcate states she was also known as Ethel Maud Hamlin. In 1921 (December quarter) she married John Alfred Bingham. They then had three cildren - John Alfred Bingham (born 1922 Wandsworth, Surrey), Olive W Bingham (born 1923 Lambeth, Surrey) and Edna M Bingham (born 1925 Wandsworth, Surrey).

Henry left effects of £1442 when he died and his probate was held in London on 5 October 1978.
