Avis married Charles Mattocks, son of John Mattocks and Eliza Jane Ellis, on 19 November 1900 in Parish Church, Chatham. (Charles Mattocks was born on 10 January 1874 in New Street, Wednesfield, Willenhall, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, baptised on 1 February 1874 in Heath Town Holy Trinity Church, Staffordshire and died on 7 September 1927 in 32 Bryant Street, Chatham, Kent.) The cause of his death was Tuberculosis.
